We celebrated Pentecost yesterday and I am so filled with the awareness of the life-giving Spirit, as well as His equipping and empowering. He keeps us in victorious living as we yield to Him and we can enjoy the holy-communion-living continuously in perfect peace! How blessed we are to be called sons and daughters of the Most High God! Living in the power of the Spirit causes us to be led into triumph every time – as we simply rely on Him and follow His lead and Jesus is glorified every time! How marvelous His ways, how magnificent His Wisdom. To Him be all the glory!
What is the “Parousia”? This is the time of the Parousia – the “Presencing” of the Lord.
As we simply practice His Presence, by worshiping Him, fixing our heart’s eyes on Him, hungering and thirsting for more of Him, soaking in HIs Word while praying in tongues – then doing what He tells us to do in absolute obedience, He will manifest Himself to us.
The “Parousia” prepares a way for the Manifest Presence of the Lord.
Websters define “manifest” as follows: readily perceived by the senses and especially by the sense of sight; easily understood or recognized by the mind : obvious.
“He who has My commandments and keeps them, is he who loves Me. He who loves Me, shall be loved by My Father and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him” – John 14:21
The purpose of the glory is not only to be blessed and having ecstatic experiences, which can easily puff up, but to be transformed until we have the image and character of Christ! His essence is Love and until we can truly love our neighbor as our self, we have missed the mark.
II Cor.3: 17 “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.â€
Christ living through us is nothing else than the Word manifested through the Spirit of life. Any attitude, mindset, emotion, opinion, etc. contrary to the Word, is not of Him and must receive the death penalty in my core-self so that the glory of His life can shine through us.
The purpose of our encounters with the Living Word, is to KNOW Him and to be transformed into His likeness so that we can be living epistles – living His Word so that Christ can be seen and heard through our living His Love.
As we live and abide in His Him, in His Word and in His Love, the light and truth and glory of it transforms us from one degree of glory to the next. Hallelujah!!!
John 6:63 â€It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.â€
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Phil.3:14)
Has anyone ever wondered what precisely this “high calling” is? Is seems as if this “calling” is forever reverberating from the womb in the ones who are searching for the deeper depths in Christ. The invitation stands, “Come away My beloved, Come away”.
Deeper and higher? Yes! Paradoxical? Yes! The deeper my search becomes, the lower I shall go in an ongoing knowing of my nothingness without Him and in the process, the higher my spirit shall soar higher into the heavenly realms. As with the Master, so shall it be in the servant – if we want to follow Him, worhipping in spirit and in truth! Obedience to death of self? Yes! In the heavenly realms there can be no mixture – only spirit to Spirit.
The upward call is into the ascension life of Christ Jesus as He “has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph.2:6). So positionally, if we have died together with, Him, we have been raised with Him in resurrection life and we are seated together with Him in ascension, for “our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look” (Phil.3:20) with His perspective as we mind the things of the spirit (having died to the flesh). Now it is only a matter of coming to the realization that He is living His life in me and through me by the Holy Spirit. He gave me His life in the Spirit to live through me as I simply abandon myself to His rule and reign, abiding in Him, in His Word and in His Love and therefore my joy is full. (John 15).
Gal 2:20 – “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
What a glorious way He has made for us through His death, resurrection and ascension to live the abundant life! Hallelujah!
When we spend time with the Lord in intimate fellowship, we should pay attention to the impartation of substance of the Word which we receive into our spirit. If we process it properly, a transformation will take place in us, then a fulfillment as well as an expression of His glory. What He does in us, should be readable by others and be evidenced in our conduct, character and relationships.
Let’s meditate on this and not be forgetful hearers.
Mark 4:24 (Amplified Version)
JAMES 3:13 “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”
PRAISE GOD that we are not left to try and make it while leaning on our own limited understanding, but in EVERY situation where we have to make decisions, we can position ourselves to receive the heavenly counsel, simply by rising above the turmoil of the issue at hand, becoming still, then asking the Lord for the wisdom from above and wait on the Spirit to release it into our inner being. It’s a matter of total reliance on HIM and when He speaks I will know certainly that it was not my idea, because it will be a higher way than my way, the way of the Spirit and not of the flesh and a way of peace. And when I simply apply His instructions, without mixing it with my “good” ideas, it will certainly solve the situation in a simple, easy way – without sweat, but definitely through obedience. We are sons and daughters of the Most High God, so let us become simple like little children – trusting Him and only doing what He says. Father always knows best. Hallelujah!
THE LESSON LEARNT FROM PETER’S LIFE
This is the revelation I received from the Lord:
When we love our loved ones with “phileo†(emotional affectionate love), we do not want them to go through any sufferings and we try to reason with them, just like Peter reasoned with Jesus, to spare them their crosses and sufferings. We try to persuade them with human reasoning to agree with our way of seeing things. We also vie for their affection and love, fearing that we may lose their acceptance, so our judgment gets impaired in crisis, as we ourselves are captives through our emotional involvement.
In the process we move into the flesh and the devil can upset us in such a way that we can even deny the Christ in our actions, simply because we do not know Him and the security of His unconditional love for us and our brothers and sisters and family, and therefore cannot answer with the same “agape†love of total trust in His Wisdom.
To die to our rights, control, self-justification and opinions seems foolishness to human reasoning, yet the cross is the way to LIFE and the wisdom of God that brings the ultimate victory over the enemy – ALWAYS!
Until we have laid down our lives on the cross, we cannot rise above the level of earthly involvements and it will always draw us into the flesh, causing us to react in the flesh, trying to protect ourselves, instead of walking in the counsel and power of the Spirit. When we have died, we rise up in ascension power – above the gravity of emotional pull and we can then see with the eagle eye of divine perspective. Then, with the compassion of “agape-love†and forgiveness we can minister resurrection life to our loved ones, without being pulled into emotional turmoil and fleshly reactions.
Therefore, give your loved ones to the Lord in total trust, releasing them emotionally. Then get saturated in “agape†by the empowering of the Holy Spirit in transparent light to receive His counsel and wisdom, releasing His Word of Wisdom with “agape†(divine love) into their lives, while having compassion on them in their weaknesses and bearing with their shortcomings with longsuffering and lowliness of heart so that they can be restored and in turn rise up as life-givers through “agapeâ€. Hallelujah!
AGAPE LOVE IS IN THE SPIRIT (Col 1:8), FLOWING FROM THE DIVINE SOURCE
PHILEO IS FLESHLY, EARTHLY, EXPECTING SOMETHING BACK, HAVING EMOTIONAL TIES & REACTING FROM INSECURITIES, SOULISH AFFECTION
We have to disentangle ourselves from emotional ties and become lovingly detached in order to move in the Spirit’s love and feed the sheep with spiritual food.
REVELATION OF PETER’S DENIAL OF THE CHRIST
Peter loved Jesus, but he was following from afar. When he was confronted at the fire, he denied Jesus three times, saying that He didn’t know Him. Although he was in the inner circle of Jesus’ disciples, he still was afraid of losing his life, although he previously told Jesus that he would lay down his life for Him. Jesus restored him three times, by asking him whether he loved Him. Jesus asked twice whether he loved Him with “agapeâ€, but he replied that he loved with “phileoâ€. The third time Jesus came to his level, asking him whether he loved Him with “phileo†and he was undone, because he realized that he still couldn’t answer with “agapeâ€. Yet, the Lord knew Peter’s destiny and commissioned him to feed His sheep – an Apostolic commission. Jesus knew that Peter would eventually answer His love with “agape†by laying down his life just as his Master to receive resurrection life by the Spirit. In the end Peter denied himself and died a martyr’s death – crucified upside down, because he didn’t deem himself worthy to be crucified like Jesus.
In these days this is my only desire, namely to be found IN HIM. I simply means to have died to self, living in the hiddenness of union with Him – not interested in name, fame, goods, ambition, position or anything this world can offer, but to be clothed with Christ, clothed in light and love – clothing of the bride of Christ.
If we live, move and have our being IN HIM, we will be able to only minister Christ to the people around us – by His grace alone!
It is the place of peace and joy and His righteousness, which is the Kingdom of God. Let’s chew on this.
Phil. 3:9 “And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith”
Jesus is first calling the sheep by His voice, then He leads those who follow to the QUIET place of still waters where His voice becomes a thunder in the life-giving pastures where they can find rest.
If we LISTEN to His voice only, which is our living food, we will feast at the banqueting table of His love – in the midst of the looming threats of the enemy without any fear. Our trust will be in Him to lead us and guide us and provide in all our need, even anointing our heads with the oil of His fragrance, causing our cups to run over in thankfulness – walking in His mercy and goodness all of our days – expecting nothing less than being fulfilled IN HIM!
Those who are thus fed in His Presence, like John (Laying with his head on Jesus’ chest – hearing His heartbeat), will be able to feed other sheep.
II Cor.2:15-17 – (Worth meditating upon)
