|May 31, 2008 "Liberty"
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of
bondage." Galatians 5:1
You have been set FREE! Stand fast therefore in your freedom and allow not the enemy of your soul and the thief of your
vision to destroy that liberty and that freedom, by putting you in a prison of regret and self rejection. Yes, the vision that
God has given you is yet for an appointed time. Do not let it be stolen from your sight. Fight for it! Fight for it, not as one
that is holding his life in his own hands, but as one who has been redeemed through the blood of the cross.
May 30, 2008 "Fruit of the Spirit"
goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no lawBut the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, ." "Galatians 5:22-23
Against the things of the Spirit there is no law! Even the ways of the world declare it. If there is a law in the land
concerning something, then most probably it is of the flesh. There is no law against love. There is no law against
humility, there is no law against being kind and gentle and joyous...Against the fruit of the Spirit there is no law. But
there is a law against murdering, smoking, drinking, lying etc. The fruit of these things are NOT love or joy or peace, but
every evil work as we also see in James 3:16 ("For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil
work.") Against such there is a law! So...choose and see what things are of the Spirit and what things are of the flesh.
Do not reason it out by saying: "it is the way I've always been" or "I do not do it in excess and therefore it is OK". Listen
and learn: It is NOT OK! You are setting yourself up for a trap. Instead, choose to walk in the Spirit and you will not
fulfill the lust of the flesh! What is the resulting fruit of your actions? Is it the fruit of the Spirit or the fruit of the flesh?
May 29, 2008 "Walk In The Spirit"
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye
would." Galatians 5:16-17
The question remains: Can a person attain perfection? Yes! How? By walking after the Spirit. Easier said than done,
but if we can walk in the Spirit we shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Will opportunity to sin still come your way?
Absolutely it will, because the flesh lusts against the Spirit. Should you feel guilt and condemnation when you feel like
being drawn away into sin? No. Jesus did not come to hold you in guilt but He came to set you free from sin. If you can
turn from your evil ways which might have become habits of evil that have formed into strongholds in your life, then
freedom is around the next corner! Declare your dependency on God because in your own strength you will never attain
freedom. It is by the Spirit of God and not by our own power. Step over into that realm and you will not fulfill the lust of
May 28, 2008 "Trust"
"The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him." Nahum 1:7
God is saying here that He knows them that trust Him. It goes the other way around too...meaning that those who trust
Him also knows Him. God knows him and he knows God. There is relationship. God is acquainted with them
because He hears of their dependence on Him on a continual basis. Do you have something that you are trusting God
to bring to pass? Do not be discouraged if you do not see the promises right away, because God knows the perfect
timing. Do not stop making known to God your dependence on Him. Have you tried to take it into your own hands?
Your dependency on God is altered if you do that. Leave it in God's hands and simply trust!
"he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain" Isaiah 57:13b
May 27, 2008 "Dependence"
Psalms 44:3 "For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but
thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favor unto them."
It is not by the power of our own strength that we will receive our inheritance and possess our promises, but by the
power of the Lord’s right hand, and the strength and intervention of His arm, and the Light of His countenance that favor
is bestowed upon us. (Psalm 44:3)
He will wait until we declare our dependence on Him and surrender our lives in trust to Him alone and then pour out
His mercy on us as we worship Him. This is the ever-sounding call that reverberates throughout all of creation, namely
to turn to our Creator in complete worship, dependence and trust.
May 26, 2008 "Confidence Towards God"
"Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God." 1 John 3:21
God has made the way open for us to have confidence towards Him. Do you have confidence to come into God's
presence? Or does your heart condemn you when you think of the Father? In Matthew 6: 14-15, He says that if you
forgive men their trespasses, then He will forgive you your trespasses, but if you do not forgive, then He will not forgive
you! Not because He doesn't want to, but because He cannot. If you do not forgive, then you put yourself in prison and
you have lost your confidence to come into the presence of God. This is not God's will for you! He wants you to have
confidence. He wants you to be free from all bondage and oppression and unforgiveness is a bondage. Do not wait
for the other person to ask forgiveness because they might not even know that they trespassed. The other person
might be free, but it is you who are in bondage and you put yourself there because of unforgiveness. It is your choice.
Choose to free your heart so that you can have freedom to come to God, the one who has forgiven you and who has
already purchased that freedom for you! Step into what He has already provided. Come to the cross so you can come
boldly and with confidence in His courts...there where no sin can enter. The way is opened for you...just choose to walk
"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their
trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15
May 25, 2008 "Holiness"
"And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever." 1 John 2:17
God shows us His will of us throughout the Scriptures. He also says: "Be ye holy; for I am holy." 1 Peter 1:16. In the
last week, we have covered a lot of ground concerning holiness an unholiness. Let us today renounce every hidden
work of darkness so we can be like the Father desires for us to be, namely walking a life of holiness in His sight.
Pursuing holiness is the result of the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. Do not grieve Him by saying no to His
promptings, but yield yourself willingly. Only by yielding in this way, can you walk out your freedom from sin.
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will
of God." Romans 12:1-2
Prayer: I now renounce every work of darkness in my life through the blood of Jesus Christ which purchased my
Salvation and my Freedom. I receive your forgiveness Lord and I declare freedom in my being from all unholy thoughts
and unholy acts that is keeping me bound and unable to fulfill my destiny in Christ. Give me a deeper desire to be like
You are and cause me to come into Your image. In Jesus name. Amen
May 24, 2008 "Life and Death"
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not
in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the
Father, but is of the world." 1 John 2:15-16
Yesterday we were talking about relating to the world. How do you distinguish then between the things of the world and
the things that are of God? If the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life takes precedence over the
LOVE of God and obedience to Him, then the love of the Father is not in you. That might sound harsh, but it is straight
from the Word of God. BUT, don't be discouraged, instead seek to make a change. But God says that if you hate these
things and you do not love the world, then the love of the Father is in you. You cannot justify yourself and give yourself a
reason why you can love the things of the world. It is clear: Either you love the things of the world or you love the things
of God. God sets before you life and death and then He continues to say: Choose life. Jesus is that Life. Let the Light
of His Life take precedence over every dark corner of your world.
Deuteronomy 30:19 "...I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both
thou and thy seed may live"
May 23, 3008 "How does the world perceive YOU?"
"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:
therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not." 1 John 3:1
Are you struggling or finding it different to relate to the world? Rejoice, for you are called a 'son of God'. The world does
not know God neither does it understand the ways of God. The world does not comprehend the light, as we also see in
John 1:5 "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." Since the world does not
understand the light, it has a struggle to understand you who walk in the light. You are simply different and the world
are not used to that. It wants you to conform to its ways so it is not that you who are struggling to relate, but rather it is
the world struggling to relate to you. Do not be discouraged but rather rejoice in that you are beginning to be even as
He is. You are coming into the image of Christ.
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he
shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."
1 John 3:2
The Word of God then continues to say that everyone that has this hope in him,"purifieth himself, even as he is pure."
1 John 3:3
May 22, 2008 "Jesus the Light"
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in
darkness, but shall have the light of life."
John also declared this in Chapter 1:4 "In him was life; and the life was the light of men." If Light is life, then darkness
equals death. God has called us OUT of darkness and into His marvelous LIGHT (1 Peter 2:9), thus calling out of
death into His marvelous LIFE. He is Light and He is Life. Is your life lighted up with the Life of Christ? Are you walking
in His Image of Light?
"That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse
nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;" Philippians 2:15
May 21, 2008 "Walk in the Light"
"And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of
him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:4-5
God has called us to walk in the light. If you are in darkness in any area of your life, then come into the light. It is the
light of God that rebukes the darkness. If you see any darkness in your life, then it is God showing it to you since He is
light. Do not resist it. If you resist it, then your joy will not be full. Your joy is affected by the darkness in you. Even if you
think it is a small area of your heart, truly a big portion is affected. John 1 also declared that the Word of God is that
Light. Allow the Light of God's Word to shine in the dark corners of your heart in order to bring light so that you can be
free to walk in the Light in every area of your life.
"For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:" Ephesians 5:8
May 20, 2008 "Growing"
"Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings" 1 Peter 2:1
We have been talking about turning from the ways of the world to the ways of God. Now that you have purified your soul
in obeying the truth of the Spirit (1 Peter 1:22), "as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may
grow thereby:" (1 Peter 2:2)
God is gracious and He is showing us His grace. His love for us abounds and He desires for us to come into the
fullness of His Spirit. He wants us to be able to grow spiritually. We cannot allow ourselves to stay in the same place
because we will become stagnant. Stagnancy will become evident in every area of our lives. This is not what God has
chosen for us. But instead "ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye
should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:"
1 Peter 2:9
May 19, 2008 "Friends of the World?"
"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." James 4:4
Yesterday we talked about the tongue and how that which is in our hearts will come out of our mouths as we also see
in Matthew 12:34 ("O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of
the heart the mouth speaketh.")
How then do we purify our hearts and allow God to do His work of holiness in us? If we are friends with the world and
with the ways of the world then we are against God and against the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Do you even
care? How do we change our hearts from friendship with the world and desiring the things of the world above the
things of God? How do we change our hearts from having a careless attitude? Verses 6-8 has the answer: "But he
giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." (Pride also is a
heart issue.) "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We need to resist the
devil and his work in our lives. It is not the work of God for you to have a careless attitude. It is not the work of God for
you to have a desire for the things of the world. The devil wants you to be in enmity with God. "Draw nigh to God, and
he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." James 4:6-8
God is waiting for you to take the first step and He will do the rest...
May 18, 2008 "The Tongue"
"Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity; so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body,
and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell." James 3:5-6
These verses tell of how the tongue is a world of iniquity. The verses following these go on to explain how no fountain
can give both salt water and fresh water. Neither can a fig tree yield fruit of an olive tree. It is simply impossible and
can never happen. The same thing happens with our tongue. If our hearts are defiled, then even our sweet words will
carry with it the taint of defilement. Only the pure in heart will distinguish the difference. Verse 14 calls it -a lie against
the truth-. "This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife
is, there is confusion and every evil work." James 3:15-16
"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and
good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that
make peace." James 3:17-18
Clean and purify your heart before God so that your tongue too can be purified. Allow God to do His work of holiness in
May 17, 2008 "Draw Nigh"
James 4:8 "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" - KJV
When we come to God, we so often come with our wants and desires and needs, but He requires a heart that is set on
Him for Himself – to worship and adore Him for who He is. I was worshiping when I saw Him walking between the
lampstands, interceding for His Bride and I heard Him saying,” I am the living Word, listen to My voice”. When we come
with a pure heart and clean hands, totally focused on Him in worship, He comes to us as the Living Word and imparts
that “rhema” word into our spirits, which is the “now” word for us to feast on and to live on. Listen and live! Come drink
of the Living Waters and get empowered by His Spirit.
May 16, 2008 "Where is Your Affection?"
"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in
God." Colossians 3:1-3
Your affection? Where is your affection? What is your life occupied with? What is your thoughts occupied with? Are you
filled with Christ or are you risen without Him? If you are risen without Christ then die and be raised with Him so that
you can be filled with Christ. "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in
due time" (1 Peter 5:6) Once we humble ourselves in dying to the ways of the flesh, then our affection will change. If
we are really dead, then alone can we be risen with Christ and then alone can we truly seek those things which are
above. We cannot successfully or continuously set our affection on things above if we ourselves have not mortified our
members (verse 5) and died to the flesh. Once we died, we can be risen with Christ.
May 15, 2008 "Joy"
Colossians 1:11 "Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering
The joy of the Lord is the strength we need to prevail and to bear up under all the trials of life. It is the glorious power of
the Lord that promotes His glory and His praise while we bear our trials without complaining and endure them with
This joy is received in the presence of the Lord while we worship. So let us press in into His Presence and receive that
glorious strength from the Lord that brings Him all the glory
May 14, 2008 "Well-Pleasing Unto the Lord"
Colossians 1:10 “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and
increasing in the knowledge of God……”
Shouldn’t this be our definite and decided aim, namely to walk worthy of the Lord, well-pleasing in His sight. This
means that we should be sensitive to Holy Spirit to not grieve Him in any word, deed or attitude. This also has
fruitfulness as a result, doing only good and following thus in the footsteps of Jesus, while we walk with a hearing ear,
sensitive to the slightest nudging of the Spirit.
May 13, 2008 "Knowing His Will"
Colossians 1:9 "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that
ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;"
Paul is praying, and so should we, that the body of Christ might be filled……… This imply that first we should be
emptied out of our own ideas, plans and will to be filled in such a way that there is no room for anything but the knowing
of God’s will in. In order to know His will, we need to ask for His wisdom, pray, seek and knock until He
speaks to us and open our understanding to see what He is saying.
So, let us position ourselves in separated times where we can become still to hear what the Spirit is saying.
May 12, 2008 "Love"
Colossians 1:4 "Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints."
Let us pursue Love at all costs by faith in Christ Jesus! It will cost you to lay down your life, but that is what it is all
about. All the reasons why we cannot love must come to their end at the cross so that we can bear the witness of His
Love and be known by it in such a degree that it is even spoken of as the fruit of the life of the Spirit in us.
