Message:       Feast of Pentecost

Sundown today, May 18th 2010, begins the festival of Shavuot on the Hebrew calendar.

Today we, as New Testament believers participate in celebration of God's grace in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Following the resurrection of Jesus and after the conclusion of 50 days, we read in Acts 2 concerning this feast, known in the
New Testament as the “Day of Pentecost.” On this day, the followers of Jesus were waiting in one accord in Jerusalem for the
promise of the Father—another gift from the Father, the giving of the Spirit on Mt. Zion.
"When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from
heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them
divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with
other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:1-4, NKJV

The Spirit of God given on Pentecost believers represented that God had poured out His gift of the Holy Spirit and His people
would be "keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Eph 4:1-16).

This is a time to thank God for our blessings, abundance and rejoice over our harvest. I cannot thank the Lord enough for His
grace in the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  If you have not received this gift yet, this is your opportune time to simply receive it by
faith (Luke 11:9-13) and if you have been baptized in the Holy spirit, I want to encourage you to pray in tongues as much and as
often as you can.

This is a time of Joy, Happiness and Celebration. During this Feast, we enter into a time of offering concerning the Firstfruit
Dedication (Lev. 23:9-14; 2 Sam. 21:9-10; Ruth 2:23). This is the Feast to thank God for His abundance which represented
blessing.

Corresponding to this time of giving by the Lord to His people, there is a Shavuot offering—a Pentecost offering that allows us
to give to the Lord in worship and gratitude for a harvest of His goodness!

Let us prayerfully offer our Pentecost gift to the Lord and may He bless your life with harvest, with the bringing together of all
things concerning His plans and destiny for your life, and in celebration for those He has joined to you.
Amen.

You are blessed knowing Him!  Celebrate His goodness and grace in giving us His Holy Spirit.
