This morning, while I was communing with the Lord, I clearly heard “Obstacles
are there to overcome”!  This is the time to develop an overcomer’s mentality!
In the book of Revelation you will find 13 rewards for overcomers.

I was reminded of an athlete, running a race with hurdles in his path. You cannot
afford to slack off, look behind you or try to side-step the hurdle.  There is one
option and that is to go over it.  Sometimes you will fly over it, sometimes you
might kick it over, but you have to stay focused on the finishing mark and be
determined to get over those hurdles, not allowing it to break your pace or
break your focus!

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things
which are before,”  (Php 3:13)

We need to know our call in Christ and have our vision clear, knowing what we are aiming for.  If we know what
God said about our lives, we need to set our mind on His purposes and press in with determination to obtain the
manifestation of His Words and Promises for our lives.  To press in literally means to “pursue” or “persecute”

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Php 3:13)

“ Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize?  So run, that ye may obtain.” (1Cor

This pressing in is first of all a pressing into His Presence, laying aside all the burdens of worries,   doubts, fears,
hopelessness and despair (that lead to confusion and lethargy); lay aside the sin (e.g. Not trusting in Him and
getting anxious).  Now get your mind’s eyes fixed on Jesus who is our empowering and answer of our faith.  He
set the perfect example of fixing His eyes on the end result and overcoming the greatest obstacle ever, namely
the Cross of Golgotha. Yes, take up your cross, die to yourself and walk in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit’s
“energeio” to reach your aim.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto
Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising
the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb 12:1)

It is not by the power of our own strength that we will receive our inheritance and possess our promises, but by
the power of the Lord’s arm and the Light of His countenance that favor is bestowed upon us in the secret place
of worship where we are seeking His face fervency in prayer. (Ps. 44:3)
